Ljb Upholstery was established in Melbourne 30 years ago. Business owner and operator Laurie Bongailas takes pride in delivering you an exceptional service and advice on saving your treasured family heirlooms. You can rest assured you are in good hands with his experience, reputation and genuine passion for restoring Furniture and Antiques back to its former glory. With decades of experience in the trade and running the furniture upholstery business, Laurie is an exceptional craftsman and traditionally trained Upholsterer.
Ljb Upholstery recently moved from Vermont, where it serviced loyal clients for many years in Vermont, Mitcham, Nunawading, Doncaster, Box Hill and surrounding inner eastern suburbs.
The business has recently had a tree change in 2025 has and moved to a bigger and better location in Mount Evelyn. The new premises has plenty of room and access for cars, vans, and furniture deliveries. A small fabric showroom has been setup to accommodate fabric samples for furniture upholstery, outdoor fabrics, and Vinyls including Marine Vinyl. There is an extensive supply of fabric remnants for smaller jobs. High quality leather, tapestries and velvet can also be ordered and seen in available sample books in the showroom.
Business signage is found curbside with an A Frame sign. Following this you can drive up to the building and park where the sign directs parking.
Long term clients and new clients are very welcome to visit the new showroom. Vermont to Mount Evelyn is only two turns and 18 mins when not in peak hours.
Ljb is looking forward to building new customers and clients in the local area. Suburbs close to the business now include: Mount Evelyn, Montrose, Lilydale, Seville, Wandin, Kilsyth, Boronia, Bayswater and Croydon.
Ljb is now supporting Mount Evelyn Football Netball Club.

Brilliant craftman and a sweet man to work with. He’s recently relocated his workshop from Vermont to York Road at Mt Evelyn. Re-upholstered all ten of our Tassie oak dining chairs, replacing the internal webbing and foam too. Came up an absolute treat in Warwick’s Copeland Olive, and ready for the next 30 years!

Laurie did a wonderful job recovering the seats on 8 dining chairs. Highly recommend him as a skilled craftsman and a friendly bloke who is a pleasure to work with. Would not hesitate asking him to do another upholstery job.
